Hello, I’m Darrel and I am a humanistic, person-centred therapist.
Person-centred counselling is non-directive and non-judgmental. My aim is to create a safe place where you feel able to raise any issues that you want to. Our sessions are a collaboration between us on the challenges you are experiencing. I will support you in exploring your own issues, beliefs, emotions, behaviour and how you perceive the world which will enable you to become more self-aware, manage your emotions and achieve greater independence. I am particularly interested in low self-esteem, anxiety, low mood, self-criticism, perfectionism, sexual orientation and addictions in addition to a wide variety of other mental health issues. I am a fluent Welsh speaker and am comfortable holding counselling sessions through the medium of the Welsh language.
I recently completed a Masters’s degree in Psychotherapy and am in the process of registering with the NCS and BACP two of the accredited professional associations.
In my spare time I enjoy wandering on beaches and through forests with our Jack Russell terrier, listening to music (from the Stranglers to Sibelius), exercising and reading poetry.
