What I do: I could list the challenges that I work with, but a list is rarely complete. I listen to clients who face many challenges and are being troubled by many different issues. Whatever life is throwing your way at present, I offer a safe and confidential space where you can speak and be listened too.
My approach: A systemically trained counsellor, believing change is always possible. I consider my approach to be what is termed “integrative” where I use a blend of theory and techniques from the person-centered, solution focused, systemic schools of counselling and psychotherapy.
How it works: As humans we are all unique, because of this “things” affect us all differently. Counselling is about listening, exploring and sharing the “things” to help find a way forward through life’s jungle.
How it may help: Life is good at putting challenges in our way, counselling can help to make sense of what’s happening. It can help you achieve your goals, improve quality of life and work life balance by providing a space where you can be heard and respected.
I work with clients suffering many varying personal difficulties such as:
- – Decision making
- – Work related issues, anger management, low self-confidence, emotional well being
- – Low-self esteem, self harm, stress, trauma, depression, anxiety, relationships, couples
- – Family and childhood experiences, coping with grief and loss
This list is not exhaustive but a sample of what we are able to work together with.
A bit about me: For most of my life I have been in work that involved me helping others. Sometimes by teaching, coaching, but always in an environment where some type of change was involved. I have been stuck myself in the past, by chance someone suggested counselling and it helped a lot to be listened to and my thoughts be respected. It was then that I decided to become a counsellor and set of on a career of helping others.
