Integrative therapist focusing on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT).

Hello, I am Lisa, an Integrative therapist focusing on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). This offers the opportunity to explore the relationship between your thoughts, feelings, behaviours, and thinking patterns that can affect you. When you engage in therapy, you will have the opportunity to explore the issues, which you feel are stopping you from leading the life you want.

I blend this with Schema therapy which is an integrative therapeutic model. It recognises that there is no single approach to how you work with people. Schema Therapy follows these elements:

  • Problematic emotions:  using experiential and emotion-focused interventions, such as chair and imagery work.
  • Childhood issues:  encouraging people to understand and validate the origins of unhelpful behavioural patterns
  • The therapeutic relationship: Taking on a limited reparenting role (within clear professional limits) to provide care and warmth. Tailoring your specific needs helps to fulfil your unmet childhood needs.

By working together, we can understand the origins; how to challenge these and gain a new relationship with your schemas.

Within the counselling relationship, I offer a safe and confidential space where you can speak and be listened to. I can help you achieve your goals, improve your quality of life and work-life balance, in a space where you can be heard and respected. Counselling is not about giving advice but about working together, to help you find solutions.

I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP) and am bound by their Ethical Framework for Good Practice. I hold full professional liability insurance.
