There are services and people out there who can help.

On this page there is a list of places to contact. The best one to pick will depend on the situation.  

If you or someone you know is experiencing suicidal thoughts, visit stayingsafe.net. They have a lot of information from people who have felt the same way. 

You can also call 116 123 now to speak to the Samaritans, who are available at any time.  

If you feel that you or someone you know is at immediate risk, call 999 or visit your local emergency department.

There are a number of dedicated support lines that are open every day, often until midnight or later, where you can speak to someone confidentially. 

Samaritans: available over the phone 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Call them on 116 123 for free. Samaritans also offer a free text service. 

C.A.LL Helpline: offers emotional support and information on Mental Health (Wales) 

Young Minds: text the YoungMinds Crisis Messenger, for free 24/7 support across the UK if you are experiencing a mental health crisis. If you need urgent help text YM to 85258. All texts are answered by trained volunteers, with support from experienced clinical supervisors 

Young Minds also offer a helpline for parents and guardians: 0808 802 5544.

Papyrus: for people under 35 and those supporting them Papyrus offer a Hopeline which can be contacted on 0800 068 4141.
